    Regent Hotels & Resorts
Regent Hotels & Resorts is an iconic name in the global hospitality industry. Regent was founded in the 1970s by Robert H. Burns, who with the help of other famed hoteliers made it the world’s most admired luxury hotel brand. It was the first to introduce the 5-fixture bathroom and the villa resort concept, which have since become worldwide luxury hotel standards. Regent was also the first truly Asia-based global hospitality group in an industry that had previously been dominated by European and American brands.

In June 2010, Formosa International Hotels Corporation acquired the Regent brand from Carlson Group. The acquisition included the sale of the global Regent brand and all associated intellectual property, the hotel management and lease contracts for properties in operation and under development, and the Caribbean-based Regent Seven Seas Cruises license. Regent currently operates in Beijing, Berlin, Singapore, Taipei, Porto Montenegro.

The acquisition of the Regent brand not only makes FIH Regent Group the first Taiwanese company to own an international luxury hotel brand, but also falls in line with the Taiwanese government’s Tourism Pilot Program, which aims to promote Taiwan’s development and international status.

    Taipei, Taiwan – October 24, 2011 – Regent Hotels & Resorts celebrates brand-wide recognition in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2011 Reader’s Choice Awards.

Highly discerning readers of the luxury travel magazine voted Regent hotels from China to the Caribbean among the luxury hotels and resorts in the world. All five of Regent’s managed hotels were included, marking a 100% success rate.
“It is an honour to have all of our hotels included in Condé Nast Traveler’s exclusive issue,” commented Ralf Ohletz, President of Regent Hotels & Resorts. “Regent is dedicated to providing world-class accommodations and service. We are thrilled to be included in such a prestigious poll.”

In the World’s Best Awards issue, the 195-room Regent Berlin is named the Number 3 hotel in all of Northern Europe, with the added distinction of being ranked among the top 100 hotels and resorts worldwide. The Regent Beijing and Regent Taipei are both included in the top 25 Asia hotels. The Regent Esplanade Zagreb is ranked among readers’ top 75 hotels in Southern Europe, and the Regent Palms Turks and Caicos is included Condé Nast Traveler readers’ Top 10 Atlantic Ocean Resorts.

Condé Nast Traveler World’s Best Awards ranks the top hotels and resorts in the world, as chosen by readers of this prestigious luxury travel magazine.

In 2010, the Regent brand returned to its Asian roots when it was acquired by FIH Regent Group(www.fihregent.com). The new leadership team in Taipei plans to create unique, bespoke hotels – often as part of mixed-use developments with luxury clubs, residences, spas and athletic facilities – in key global gateway cities and resort destinations.

Regent Hotels & Resorts Returns to Asia
    Announces new global leadership team

    Original Founder Robert Burns Returns;
Global Luxury Hotelier Ralf Ohletz Appointed President

(TAIPEI, TAIWAN – July 8, 2010) Following the acquisition of Regent Hotels and Resorts (www.regenthotels.com) from privately-held Carlson Hospitality Group and Brussels-based Rezidor Hotel Group, FIH Regent Group (http://www.grandformosa.com.tw/), the largest and most profitable hotel company listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (2707.TW), announces a new global leadership team for Regent Hotels & Resorts.

FIH Regent Group succeeded over 20 other bidders for the brand including some of the world’s leading luxury hotel groups and developers, during 6 months of intensive competition. FIH Regent Group prevailed because it has a long history with the Regent as the original owner of the Regent Taipei. The hotel was conceptualized by Regent Founder Robert Burns and stylized after the iconic Regent Hong Kong. FIH Regent Group has grown to become a leading luxury hotel group in greater China, with its flagship Regent Taipei consistently the most profitable Regent hotel in the world.

“Regent was born in Asia, has a strong brand recognition in Asia, and is now coming home to Asia” said Steven Pan, Chairman of Regent and FIH Regent Group.

Regent was founded in the 1970s by American Robert H. Burns, who was joined soon after by an Asian Adrian Zecha (who later founded Amanresorts) and a European Georg Rafael, who made it the world’s most admired luxury hotel brand. It was the first to introduce the 5-fixture bathroom and the villa resort concept, which have since become worldwide luxury hotel standards. Regent was also the first truly Asia-based global hospitality group in an industry that had previously been dominated by European and American brands.

In the company’s golden years of the 1980s and 1990s, Regent properties were among some of the world’s best hotels and included the iconic Regent Hong Kong and Regent Beverly Wilshire. Properties under development in New York, Bali, Milan, and Istanbul were later opened as Four Seasons when the brand was sold to Four Seasons, and then later to Carlson.

The new Regent Chairman Steven Pan is setting out to restore the brand to its former glory with the same global mix of leadership directly linked to the original Regent DNA. He invited founder Robert Burns to return as Honorary Chairman to serve as the brand’s guiding light. He then appointed Ralf Ohletz as President, who has worked with Regent co-founder Adrian Zecha for 25 years creating some of the world’s most groundbreaking hotels such as the Sukhothai Bangkok and The Setai in Miami.

Burns is a native of New York and has spent six decades in the hotel industry. He began his career in the late 1940s at the Waldorf-Astoria while attending New York University. In 1970, he founded Regent International Hotels in Hong Kong along with Adrian Zecha and Georg Rafael. Over 22 years, the group opened 17 luxury hotels in key locations around the world. The flagship of the portfolio was The Regent Hong Kong. Burns sold his interest in Regent to Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts in 1992.

Ohletz is a native of Germany where he attended the School of Hotel Administration in Heidelberg. He later attended the Cornell School of Hotel Administration before launching his career at the London Hilton. He subsequently worked at some of the world’s leading hotels including: The Oriental Singapore, The Mandarin Hong Kong and The Pierre in New York. He began a long collaboration with Zecha as part of the development team for Beaufort Hotels. In 1992, Ohletz once again joined Zecha at GHM Hotels where he was responsible for such admired luxury hotels as The Datai, Langkawi; The Chedi, Muscat; The Legian, Bali and The Setai; Miami.

The new Regent development focus will be partnering only with the very top developers and owners, creating bespoke mixed use properties and ensuring pride of ownership. “As we bring Regent back home to Asia,” said Pan, “expansion in Asia is a natural for us, and China will play a critical role as a rapidly growing economic superpower.”

Regent also looks to return to gateway cities such as Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles, London and Shanghai in addition to its current pipeline projects in Abu Dhabi, Bali, Bangkok, Doha, Dubrovnik, Gurgaon, Kuala Lumpur, Maldives, Phuket, and Puerto Rico.

Existing Regent properties are located in Beijing, Berlin, Bordeaux, Taipei, Turks & Caicos, Singapore and Zagreb.

REGENT HOTELS & RESORTS Past, Present and Future

Regent is an iconic name in the global hospitality industry. Born in Asia in the 1970s, it became the world’s most admired hotel brand and for many years set the benchmark for luxury hotels worldwide.

The brand was started by legendary hotelier Robert H Burns as a joint venture with Japan’s Tokyu Group in 1970. Mr. Burns became chairman and CEO of the group and was joined in the early years by industry leaders George Rafael and Adrian Zecha (who later founded Amanresorts).

Together with Zecha and Rafael, Burns developed and expanded the Regent brand to become the first truly Asia-based global hospitality group in an industry previously dominated by European and American brands. Regent injected high-quality Asian hospitality standards into all their hotels worldwide.

From 1970 to 1979, the company managed a number of prominent hotels globally, but it was with the opening of the flagship Regent Hong Kong in 1981 that it became a pre-eminent brand worldwide.

With a prime location on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront and a spectacular grandstand view of Hong Kong Island, Regent Hong Kong quickly became the world’s most admired hotel. Synonymous with impeccable service, the hotel was consistently honoured with prestigious awards and spawned a series of similarly elegant and luxurious Regent hotels in iconic destinations around the world.

The Regent Hong Kong was also the first hotel to introduce the five-fixture bathroom. Burns, together with Zecha and George Rafael, realised that when business travellers stay at a hotel, the place they spend most of their time apart from the bed is the bathroom. So they decided to enlarge the bathroom and divide it into wet and dry sections, and separate the shower from the bathtub. This seemingly simple idea was new at the time and has since become standard for five star hotels.

Besides practical innovation, Regent Hotels became synonymous with glamour and style, and became playgrounds for celebrities and international sophisticates.

In the golden years of the 1980s and 1990s, the Regent Hotels & Resorts group opened 17 hotels over 22 years, including the celebrated Regent Beverly Wilshire. Originally built in 1928, it was bought and magnificently restored in 1985 to its rightful place at the centre of Los Angeles’ vibrant social scene. The hotel was also selected as the setting for one of the most successful movies of all time: “Pretty Woman,” starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.

Other Regent highlights included the magnificent Regent New York (now The Four Seasons New York) which was built in 1991 and became the new benchmark for luxury hotels in New York, and the Regent Bali (now the Four Seasons Bali), which was built in 1992 on a spectacular hilltop setting overlooking Jimbaran Bay. This Bali resort was the first where each “room” was its own separate villa with a private pool, which again set new standards that became in time the norm for the very top of the luxury resort market.

In 1992, the Regent brand was acquired by Four Seasons and merged under the Four Seasons Group. Many of the original Regent hotels, such as The Regent New York and The Regent Bali, then re-branded to Four Seasons.

In 1997, Regent again changed hands, and was acquired by the privately-owned Carlson Hospitality Group. During this period, Carlson also integrated its luxury cruise line under the Regent brand and launched Regent Seven Seas Cruises, bringing Regent’s elevated standards of service to the cruise industry.

In 2010, Regent returned to its Asian roots, with an acquisition by FIH Regent Group, the largest and most profitable hotel company listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

FIH Regent Group has historic connections with the Regent brand; FIH Regent Group is the original owner of the Regent Taipei, which has consistently ranked the leading hotel in Taipei.

Steven Pan, Chairman of FIH Regent Group, noted that his family’s long association with the brand provided him with a unique understanding of its origins, and a commitment to the exceptional service and understated elegance that Regent represents.

“We were here when Regent’s founders brought their concepts and values to life, and we have nurtured those traditions in our hotel,” he commented.

Pan has bold plans to return the brand to its iconic status. He invited the original founder Robert H Burns as Honorary Chairman to serve as the brand’s guiding light. He also appointed global luxury hotelier Ralf Ohletz President of the Regent brand. Ohletz’ visionary industry experience includes collaborating with another original Regent founder, Adrian Zecha, to develop some of the world’s most innovative hotel and resort concepts over the past 20 years.

“Regent was born in Asia, has strong brand recognition in Asia, and is now coming home to Asia,” added Mr Pan.

Expansion in Greater China, through both acquisition and management in partnership with leading developers, is a key to his ambitious plans – with the international cities of Shanghai and Hong Kong and the leading resort destination of Hainan among the top targets.

Also on the Regent radar are major global gateway cities such as New York, Paris and London.

“We will return to the gateway cities of the world,” said Mr. Pan. “We are well positioned to bring a great brand opportunity to the hotel investment community.

“We look forward to restoring the original Regent precepts of timeless design and intuitive service to the luxury end of the business. Our goal is simply to again be the most admired luxury hotel brand in the world.”

Pan’s concept is for Regent is to create grand hotels, bespoke, often with mixed-use developments including signature restaurants and spas, along with luxury residential developments and extensive retail spaces.

“The original Regent concept was based on perfecting the art of ‘the 3 B’s’ - bed, bath and breakfast. Now we are adding a fourth ‘B’ to the equation: bespoke” said Pan.

Six Regent hotels currently in operation are located in Beijing, Singapore, Berlin, Zagreb, Turks & Caicos and Taipei.

Pipeline hotel projects are under development in Abu Dhabi, Bali, Doha, Kuala Lumpur, Montenegro and Phuket.

Superyacht Marina Village of Shops, Residences and Restaurants to Feature New Waterfront Hotel

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – February 6, 2012 – Regent Hotels & Resorts announces the signing of an agreement with Adriatic Marinas d.o.o to manage the Regent Porto Montenegro. The luxury, waterfront hotel is scheduled to open in (May) 2014, and will further evidence Regent’s strategy to offer bespoke communities to visitors. Originally an Austro-Hungarian naval base, Porto Montenegro has become an illustrious destination for tourists, yacht owners and celebrities.

“The Regent Porto Montenegro will fulfil the Regent precepts of simple, elegant design and intuitive service,” said Steven Pan, Chairman of Regent Hotels & Resorts. “This bespoke, hotel will be part of a community unto itself, one that offers the best in service, relaxation and entertainment.”

Located directly in Porto Montenegro marina in the Bay of Kotor, the 80-room hotel will offer thirty-five guestrooms and forty-five suites with interiors designed by Pisano Atelier. London-based ReardonSmith Architects, the recent recipients of four European Hotel Design Awards, are designing the hotel exterior in a Renaissance Venetian style, complete with a terracotta roof, inspired by Venetian aesthetics and drawing on the countless Italianate palazzi around the Bay.

The Regent Porto Montenegro will feature a ground-floor café and brasserie, fine dining restaurant and cigar lounge, meeting facilities, a signature Regent Spa and two spectacular swimming pools. A central atrium with expansive views of the sea and surrounding mountains will lead to a tranquil water garden connected to a private island for exclusive events and dining.

While guests at the Regent Porto Montenegro will be able to enjoy the luxury amenities at the hotel, they will also have full access to Porto Montenegro. The world-class marina features 184 boat berths, a lively village centre with casual cafes, fine-dining restaurants and upscale retail stores offering both local and international designer brands. Village amenities include a day spa, hair salon, yacht club and nautical museum. In the next few years, Adriatic Marinas d.o.o also plans to double its berth capacity from 185 to 370, re-develop a superyacht maintenance and refit facility in conjunction with ASY Bijela just 5km away in the Bay of Kotor, and add a premium casino to its offering.

“We are delighted to engage in this hotel development within such a diverse and lavish destination. Regent will be bringing its own storied history into this culturally rich location,” said Ralf Ohletz, President of Regent Hotels & Resorts. “Montenegro will be one of the fastest growing travel and tourism economies over the next ten years and we are pleased that Regent will be part of this development. The Regent Porto Montenegro
will have something for every visitor, from restaurants to shopping to water activities; and as such, ensures that our guests will be part of the bespoke Regent experience.”

With 62 miles of coastline, the Bay of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest natural harbour in the eastern Mediterranean. The bay is surrounded by beautiful Italian architecture, a reminder of the area’s 400 years under Venetian rule. Situated only minutes from Tivat International Airport, Regent Porto Montenegro is perfect for travellers who, upon arrival, want to quickly escape and be surrounded by natural beauty of the bay and glacial landscapes of Montenegro.

Regent turns its focus to Europe amidst brand-wide recognition. All five of Regent’s managed hotels are included in Conde Nast Traveler’s 2011 Reader’s Choice Awards, a ranking of the top hotels and resorts in the world as chosen independently by readers of this luxury travel magazine. This is the first time ever a global hotel company has its entire portfolio of managed hotels included in this prestigious ranking.

Rezidor to develop and operate new Regent hotels – exclusively in Russia/CIS, Baltics, Middle East & Africa; and jointly with Regent Hotels and Resorts in the rest of Europe

Regent Hotels and Resorts (RHR), wholly owned by Formosa International Hotels Corporation (FIH), has signed a long-term Strategic Alliance Agreement for the Regent brand with Rezidor Hotel Group AB, one of the fastest growing hotel groups worldwide. Effective immediately, Rezidor will exclusively develop and operate Regent hotels in Russia/CIS, Baltics, Middle East and Africa; and jointly with RHR develop and operate new Regent hotels in the rest of Europe. RHR will continue operating existing Regent hotels in Europe. “We are honored to partner with Mr. Kurt Ritter and his team at Rezidor; the leading hotel operator in the EMEA region with special insight and experience with the Regent brand. Our cooperation will further strengthen our growth strategy while RHR continues to focus on luxury hotel residential mixed use projects in the region. Together we hope to significantly increase the Regent hotel portfolio and international network.”, said Steven Pan, Chairman of Regent Hotels and Resorts.

FIH had acquired the Regent brand and business in 2010 from Carlson and Rezidor, and since then RHR has refined its gracious Asian hospitality combined with a modern luxury platform in order to position Regent at the forefront of the international five-star hotel market. With this Strategic Alliance, RHR will continue to focus primarily on mixed use development projects combining luxury hotels with branded residential components in the EMEA region. RHR currently operates Regent hotels in Beijing, Berlin, Taipei, Turks & Caicos and Zagreb. “We would like to thank Steven Pan and his team for their trust in Rezidor”, commented Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor. “The acquisition of the Regent brand and business by Formosa in 2010 allowed us to focus on our core brands Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson, and to strengthen our network in 70 countries across EMEA. Besides Europe’s largest upper upscale brand Radisson Blu and the dynamic mid-market brand Park Inn by Radisson, Rezidor also operates the lifestyle brand, Hotel Missoni.

Regent was first launched in 1970 by the legendary hotelier Robert H. Burns who later teamed up with hoteliers Adrien Zecha and Georg Raphael. The flagship Regent Hong Kong opened its doors in 1980. During the 1980s and 1990s, Regent became the leading luxury brand, opening 17 hotels around the world, including the iconic Regent Beverly Wilshire in 1989. In 1992, the brand was acquired by Four Seasons whose portfolio today contains many rebranded Regent hotels in New York, Beverly Hills, Bali, Milan, Istanbul, Singapore, Bangkok and Chiang Mai. In 1997, Carlson became the new owner and added the Regent Seven Seas Cruise to the Regent portfolio in 2005. When FIH Regent Group acquired Regent in 2010, founder Robert H. Burns also returned to the brand and serves today as the Honorary Chairman. In 2011, RHR became the first and only international luxury brand with all managed hotels listed in the Condé Nast Traveler's Readers Choice Awards.

"As the Regent brand was founded in Asia where culinary journeys are an important part of life, this is a perfect opportunity to promote Asian culture, innovation, and the best that Regent has to offer," says Steven Pan, Chairman, FIH Regent Group.

In 1970, legendary hotelier Mr. Robert H. Burns created the Regent brand, which fostered prominent luxury hotels in major Asian cities then across the world – a refreshing variation from the European and American-dominated socio-economic fields at the time. From 1970 to 1979, numerous Regent hotels opened for business and in 1981, the Regent Hong Kong pushed the Regent brand to stardom as it became world-renowned for its cutting edge Asian-style service concepts and innovative hotel interior designs. For the last 40 years, Regent has remained dedicated to gracious, intuitive service and refined, bespoke luxury experiences. Today, Regent’s top place in the competitive market of luxury hospitality remains undisputed.

With the rapid growth and development of the Chinese and other Asian markets, the world has recognized the growth and development potential of investing in this region. As a global brand with its origins in Asia, Regent is the predecessor of this trend and therefore is once again receiving worldwide attention.

Dedicated to concepts such as “the perfect relevant guest experience”, “personalized services”, and “excellence as the norm”, Regent has carefully planned for “Best of Asia” to be a unique culinary experience. As world-famous chefs demonstrate their superb culinary talents, Regent Hotels & Resorts bring to the forefront its firm belief in excellent bespoke products and services. Regent is proud to have this exclusive opportunity to provide its guests with relevant and personalized culinary adventures from some of the world's amazing gastronomic specialists.

“The four chefs have all been internationally recognized, and their restaurants are some of the most sought-after Michelin-starred restaurants in the world,” Steven Pan further explains. “Their talent, dedication, and hard work set them apart and give them the inspiration and motivation necessary to create wonderful menus to savor and enjoy. This is one of the many events that we, as a company, organize to ensure that our guests and clients are given the opportunities to appreciate the finer things in life.”

    -About the Chefs-

André Chiang is a Taiwan-born chef who, at the age of merely 36, has already made quite a name for himself as a world-renowned culinary star. Chiang was named one of Asia's Top 10 Young Chefs and one of the Best 150 Relais Gourmand Master Chefs of the World. Dedicated to the philosophy of using only the freshest of seasonal produce, Chiang is widely known for his unique style of Southern French nouvelle cuisine with vibrant Mediterranean touches.

Influenced by his Korean heritage and mentor Thomas Keller from The French Laundry, Lee brings fifteen years of experience working with some of the world’s most critically acclaimed chefs. Lee has won countless awards and is known for applying Western techniques to creations that carry Asian elements. Lee’s creations are simple and sophisticated, modern and artistic.

Alvin Leung or “Demon Chef” is the owner of Bo Innovation in Hong Kong and London. Born in London and raised in Toronto, the Cantonese culinary artist brings a diverse fusion of arts and science. Leung is one of the few who received a Michelin star while learning as an autodidact in cooking, and is known for his “X-treme Chinese Cooking,” as he combines centuries-old recipes with modern ingredients. X-citing, X-otic and X-ordinary, his X-treme Chinese cuisine is delicious and avant-garde.

Seiji Yamamoto is the soul of his Michelin-starred restaurant Ryugin in Tokyo, which has been ranked #2 in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants in S. Pellegrino rankings of 2013. Yamamoto is best known for kaiseki, a multi-course Japanese-style banquet incorporating only seasonal ingredients, and is famous for experimenting with new techniques and ingredients to enhance and modernize classical Japanese cuisine. Furthermore, Yamamoto pays tremendous amount of attention to visual aesthetics and décor within his restaurant—the concept of Nihonryori Ryugin reflects the classic elements of kaiseki: the aesthetics of the plate are just as important as the food on it.

    Re-Branding FIH Regent Group
Situated at the top of the tourism industry is FIH Regent Group, who in 2008 launched the international [Silks] brand. Targeting various consumers, the company formed various sub-brands to cater to consumers of different price brackets. For premium luxury accommodations there is [Regent Taipei], for mid-price 5-star accommodations is [Silks Place Yilan] and [Silks Place Taroko], and for the lower-price range is the new [Just Sleep] chain. With the gradual establishment of the brand, FIH Regent Group has made a full encompassing of hotel chains catering to all kinds of travelers. FIH Regent Group chief executive Xue Yaping states, “It has been observed in recent years that travelers from Japan, Hong Kong, and Macau are traveling to Taiwan more frequently, and the addition of short business trips from international business travelers along with the influx of travelers from the Mainland make reasonably priced hotels centrally and conveniently located very popular. Therefore, the launching of Just Sleep is FIH Regent Group’s approach to meeting the market demand, creating a new paradigm in Taiwan’s business hotels.”

Just Sleep is geared towards the “smart traveler” and is equipped with all the conveniences of technology as well is located 5-10 minutes away from the MRT, which connects travelers to the bustling city. In addition, the 5-star service standard as exemplified by Regent Taipei allow for premium service at an affordable price, making Just Sleep the ideal hotel for travelers.

And worth mentioning is that the new Just Sleep brand utilizes brings a new life to hotels as it makes use of renovated existing buildings. Though the rooms are not enormous, the spaces are comfortable and stylish, giving guests a relaxed and homey living environment. The Ximen Ding branch was converted from office space from floors 5-9 that were previously occupied by the environmental protection department. The interior space was designed by famous architect Li Wei Min, who created the space around the concepts of style and simplicity. The total cost of renovation was NT$150 million and it has been open since its soft opening in June of this year. The room rates range from NT$2,500-NT$3,000 a night and so far, has averaged an amazing 80% occupancy rate. Future plans will follow that of all major hotel brands by setting up branches in major cities such as Gaoxiong and Taizhong, and there are expected to be a total of 10 branches in Taipei city. The goal is to open 30 throughout Taiwan and to become Taiwan’s largest affordable hotel chain offering high quality services.

    Brand Essence: 3B, 3C’s and 3S’s
Unlike the typical 5-star hotel or the trendy boutique hotel, Just Sleep is cozy and unique. Focusing on the notion of affordable yet luxurious, Just Sleep emphasizes the 3B’s, 3C’s and 3S’s.

    The 3B’s:
Bed—Allowing for a Soothing Sleep:Being named Just Sleep is not just for show, it is the focal point of the brand, which emphasizes the importance of a good night’s rest to a traveler. Therefore, Just Sleep provides the same 5-star quality beds as Regent Taipei, which is the selling point of the Just Sleep brand. All rooms have a temperature sensing, pressure relieving Wellspring Bed, whose heavenly texture and soft sheets will cure any restless nights and ensure a rare good night’s sleep.

Breakfast—Providing Energy for the Day:Besides a good night’s rest, a nice and healthy breakfast the next morning is another important part of the hotel experience. Guests at Just Sleep can enjoy breakfast at Just Café, which provides a meal worth waiting for. Most dishes served are organic and home-grown, for example the hard-boiled eggs are grown and processed under a high-tech strict sterilization process to ensure nutrient rich and quality eggs; black pork smoked ham is handmade from Taiwan’s first ham company and guarantees succulent taste and texture; steamed duck rolls are from the pure mountains and rivers of Yilan county and created with a new wine steaming method for a tender and fragrant flavor; for a dessert there is special Taiwanese treat with mango, pineapple, baby tomatoes and other dried fruits from Tainan (no artificial preservatives added); and there are a variety of handmade breads crafted by Regent Taipei’s executive French pastry chef which are freshly baked daily. Salads, yogurt, fresh fruit, Taiwanese porridge, juice, coffee and much more are on the menu and every guest at Just Sleep can go to Just Café and enjoy the day without limits.

Bath—Stylish and Chic:Having a clean and comfortable place to clean up after a long day is one of the most important things to a traveler. So, Just Sleep’s bathroom provide the perfect space that is both attractive and functional; with a shower and separate toilet and sink, guests do not have to worry about disturbing one another when sharing a room. Toilets are automatic and have extra functions while the minimalist design and high quality shower facilities create a chic yet sophisticated space.

    The 3C’s:
Convenience—Catering to the needs of all travelers: Just Sleep is conveniently located within walking distance to the MRT station, which makes any stop to any attraction within the city a quick journey. From the Ximen Ding branch, the MRT is just a 2-minute walk away and one stop away from the Main Station, which is the transportation hub of the city that extends to all the bustling hotspots in the city. The hotels are all centrally located to give a taste of Taiwan culture and life so that guests can feel the pulsating life of the city which is full of fun and surprises.

Comfort—Cozy decadence: Although Just Sleep cannot compare on scale to the massive hundred room hotels, it falls nowhere near short because of its 5-star service. With a business center and 24 hours concierge, staff are ready around the clock to provide guests with all their business and travel needs. Just Sleep’s Just Café also provides a fun laidback space with unlimited coffee so guests can relax as if in their own living room, and vending machines of all kinds with drinks, snacks and daily necessities act like a convenience store in the hotel. Cozy yet stylish rooms all have their own windows and can be adapted to a place for a meeting or a place of leisure, thus breaking the boundaries and concepts of space and creating a fusion of 5-star hotel and home.

Communication—Connecting you to your world: At Just Sleep, there is free wireless broadband and LAN line facilities, satellite television, and high-tech entry controls for the safety of guests. Just Café is equipped with desktop computers which are accessible 24 hours a day; bringing the latest technology to connect guests to their world.

    The 3S’s
Small: For a business hotel, Just Sleep rooms may be small, but the facilities and amenities are more than you could ever ask for and you will find a delightful surprise at every corner. Architect Weimin Lee has perfectly planned the layout of each room to maximize use of every inch, and designed with chic and simple furniture, Just Sleep rooms are cozy yet equipped with all you could need for a comfortable and stylish stay. Rather than a bulky wardrobe, there are open hanging racks to hang clothes, under the sink is an adorable refrigerator…so from these design details to the mugs, tissues, all these simple line elements are useful for functional and decoration purposes. Additionally, the Ximen Ding branch has a unique layout for its twin bed rooms; rather than the typical twin bed layout, it puts the beds head to head with a snug work area to maximize space as well as allows for guests to have their own personal space.

Stylish:Touting a simple, comfortable, yet stylish mantra, it is built upon a foundation of imagination that is unique to hotels. With its mark visible from the airport to the streets, it caters to the smart traveler and is trendy with its signature “J” infused décor and ideas found on everything from its hotel name to its hanging closet concept; all of which aim to add a little fun and humor to your living experience. But beyond this, Just Sleep’s rooms are bathed in an elegant off-white color juxtaposed against wooden furniture and a fanciful light green hue to bring a sense of warmth and calm; and the lively staff don a baby blue uniform while exuding energy and vigor, giving Just Sleep an unseen vitality that breaks all preconceived notions of the cold and rigid hotel staff common to business hotels; thereby closing the distance between guest and staff. But it does not end there, Just Sleep in cooperation with famous bedding company—votre—takes an artistic view on bedding and creates an “art floor” in the Ximen Ding branch so you can witness the perfect harmony of comfort and art.

Smart: For the 5-star service provided at Just Sleep, the going rate in Taiwan is begins at NT$5,000. But, at Just Sleep, guests can enjoy great service at just half the price. Though Just Sleep prices are similar to those of other business hotels, there is premium 5-star service along with your room because of FIH Regent Group’s dedication to a luxurious hotel experience. Additionally, there is no extra cost for Internet use and coffee refills are free, so smart travelers who understand value are sure to enjoy all the luxuries Just Sleep has to offer.

Shanghai’s Exclusive Residence Tomson Riviera and FIH Regent Group Cooperate To Raise the Bench in Luxury Services with the Introduction of Personal Butler Services

[Taipei, Taiwan Nov. 26 2009]Today, Shanghai’s Tomson Riviera and Taiwan’s FIH Regent Group held an official press conference to formally sign into contract their longstanding strategic partnership. FIH Regent Group will be responsible for providing Tomson Riviera residents with international 5-star hotel service, thereby reinforcing FIH Regent Group’s dominance in the luxury hospitality market, but more importantly thereby importing the popular personal butler service provided by FIH Regent Group in Taiwan, to China’s most luxury residences.

Cooperation between Tomson Riviera and FIH Regent Group comes after a successful year of boosts in occupancy rates along with booms in sales and rentals. As a result, Tomson Riviera has decided to take the step to improve services, attesting to Tomson Group’s long-term philosophy and commitment to quality and business. And with FIH Regent Group as a partner, together these two companies are reaching out bilaterally to the top of the business rental luxury market, becoming the leader in the industry of one of the most trusted hotel brands in the market.

Tomson Riviera: An International Perspective to Raise Shanghai
One of the first investments in Pudong by a Taiwan company, Tomson Riviera adheres to the practical philosophy of bringing value to the city it is located in. This time around, cooperating with FIH Regent Group, this philosophy can be put into action with FIH Regent Group’s practical experience and expertise, whose excellent service and management in Taiwan has given it a more than solid reputation.

So together, these two companies take on Shanghai because of its growing potential. Shanghai, as a fascinating international metropolis, is recognized in the worldwide 21st century global economy as a new force. Reports state that following New York and London, which are the world’s two major international financial centers, in the next 10 to 15 years, Shanghai will most likely become the third international financial center of the world. In 2009, Shanghai’s international standing was raised because it will be the location of the 2010 World Expo, and also because in March, China’s State Council decided to support the building in Shanghai of an International Financial Center as well as an International Shipping Center, which is to be completed in the year 2020. These plans will cement Shanghai’s economic strength and boost its international standing as an international financial center, as well as allocate resources with an international shipping center equipped with a global shipping capacity. With the trend in the global economy and China’s development strategy, Shanghai is forecasted to become a leader and model for other financial centers to follow.

Therefore, it is imperative that Shanghai expand to provide more high-end luxury services to match its growing international status. Tomson Group Executive Director states, “We want to have a international real estate concept and quality service to pull up Shanghai; use an international business-oriented perspective to operate Tomson Riviera. We will strive to raise and improve ourselves and the quality of our services to raise the benchmark of China’s luxury standard and become a model of superior quality. Additionally, we aim so that Lujiazui and Shanghai residents may enjoy high quality and world-class living.”

To achieve its goals, Tomson Riviera plans to diversify and upgrade its quality of accommodations by cooperating with world-class brand Versace Home. In doing so, Tomson Riviera aims to provide an enjoyable and unique living experience. In the 17 years of its development in Shanghai, Tomson Riviera has witnessed and contributed to Shanghai’s development and continues to invest and develop with the business philosophy of “creating value for the city”.

FIH Regent Group:Providing All Encompassing Personal Butler Services to Give Tomson Riviera Unrivaled Superiority in the Market
In the luxury hospitality service, FIH Regent Group’s 5-star hotel, Regent Taipei, is an industry leader with a long- standing history of achievement and success. In more recent years, FIH Regent Group has taken the lead in management, thereby paving the way for corporation between itself and Tomson Riviera. This cooperation is the next logical step as FIH Regent Group is not unfamiliar with the management of service luxury residences. Also managing Taiwan’s most premium residence—ShinKong Mitsukoshi Jasper Villa—located in downtown Taipei, this next venture with Tomson Riviera is a move into China’s growing luxury residence market.

Extending its mantra of excellence in service to China, FIH Regent Group imports its popular personal butler service concept and brings its meticulous and refined services to cater to the residents of Tomson Riviera. With a wealth of professional and practical “know how” and the application of the “golden rule” to provide the most thoughtful service to meet the needs of all residents, residents can enjoy premium 5-star services right from their home. Therefore, Tomson Riviera and FIH Regent Group together bring to the table the concept of an all-encompassing personal butler to provide each guest with professional butler services to take care of all affairs. All butlers will be rigorously trained to become well versed to cater to the requests of residents; furthermore, in addition to a dedicated housekeeping team, a knowledgeable and resourceful chief concierge will be available to meet all dining, travel, recreational and entertainment queries and needs.

Even event planning services are available if a resident wishes to hold a themed party or event. A professional team may arrange famous chefs from around the world for catering; if a resident has a business travel itinerary, a professional team may help arrange ticket booking; if a resident requires short term professional business services, secretarial and translation services are available. After three years of careful planning and construction, Shin Kong Jasper Villa Xinyi, two brand-new twin towers located at the corner of Xinyi and Songren Road, holds its Grand Opening on May 12, 2005. This is Shin Kong Life Insurance Company’s second masterpiece after the completion of Jasper Villa Tienmu to further satisfy the demand for long-term luxury apartment residences for lease with five-star hotel management services. Jasper Villa Xinyi shall provide the ultimate in accommodations and services to the cream of society, including diplomatic ambassadors and representatives, international business managers, financial and technical profiteers, frequent business travelers, corporate executives, and engineers and consultants who need to reside in Taiwan for a year or more due to long-term and monumental projects.

From experience in operating Jasper Villa Tienmu, it has been gathered that, when choosing a long-term residence, corporate residences from other countries take into consideration the (1) location and neighborhood including transportation, shopping, entertainment, recreation, schools, and hospitals, (2) residence functionality, such as apartment size, furnishings, home appliances, and house-cleaning, (3) recreational facilities, such as swimming pool, fitness center, spa, and restaurants, and (4) hotel-style management like the business center, personalized butlers, and room service. Jasper Villa Xinyi has made all the necessary adjustments to ensure that its guests will enjoy the best of all these features.

Gateway to the heart of “Manhattan of Taipei” with a plethora of activities
As a consequence to the blossoming of Xinyi Commercial District, numerous foreign companies have moved their headquarters into the area, which in turn creates the need for foreign corporate executives to live around their place of work. Therefore, the target customers of Jasper Villa Xinyi differ from Jasper Villa Tienmu’s families. The ideal location of Jasper Villa with convenient transportation and a stone’s throw from Taipei 101 and the Taipei World Trade Center makes it perfect for its target audience of single aristocrats and upper class couples.

    Apartment sizes tailored to fit
The 193 apartment units of Jasper Villa Xinyi are partitioned into ten different styles ranging from 18 to 140 pings. Each unit is equipped with superior bathroom features, a kitchen, and large view windows to let in natural sunlight and a breathtaking view of the busy metropolis. Apartments can be furnished or unfurnished and a maid room is allocated for units over 65 pings. Residences can choose their ideal home according to the number of people and their needs. Japer Villa Xinyi is the first structure in the market with such a wide array of options from which to choose.

    Supreme and private recreational facilities
In addition to its 193 luxury serviced residences, Jasper Villa Xinyi also houses a fully equipped modern Fitness Center, an indoor heated Swimming Pool, Aerobics Center, two top-notch restaurants, a first-rate Spa, and a 24-hour Dedicated Concierge. Safety measures, which is a significant aspect for the blue blood, is provided and monitored by Shin Kong Security. Entrances and parking lots are separated for tenants and visitors, and the most advanced security and surveillance system has been installed to keep out trespassers and monitor all incoming and outgoing traffic so that residences may have the highest level of privacy and safety.

    Five-star services by Regent Taipei
In order for Jasper Villa Xinyi to lead the way in its service concepts, Shin Kong Life Insurance has appointed FIH Regent Group, a leading company in hotel development, as the management team. The Corporation’s flagship hotel, Regent Taipei, is a Four Seasons hotel that has won countless awards for its excellent exhibition of service management. It has served as the temporary abode to countless celebrities and VIP government officials and is the only hotel in Taiwan named in the Top 20 Hotels in Asia by Condé Nast Traveler’s 2004 Reader’s Choice Awards. With “Commitment to Excellence” as its key concept, FIH Regent Group imparts the most exquisite services to the most luxurious apartments in Taipei with professional butlers trained by England’s Grant International and a dedicated staff.

A new height in rent for the cognoscenti
With the outstanding features described above, the average rental fee for Jasper Villa Xinyi has also created a new height in the industry. The ten styles of apartment units from 18 to 140 pings can be leased for NT$120,000 to NT$400,000 which is much higher rate than the neighboring residences and even offices. The fact that the complex is already 30% leased out even before its Grand Opening proves that there is indeed a demand for such a product.
